Pradoe Footpath: sorted

I am pleased to report that the issues have now been resolved and I am grateful to the landowners for their help. Pradoe Footpath: sorted 🙂

Pradoe Footpath issues have now been sorted. Thanks to Suckleys for their help in getting this resolved quickly

Last week I blogged about a resident’s complaint about access problems – overgrown footpaths and a stile that wasn’t suitable for people with access/mobility issues.

I raised the issues last week with the Landowner and Shropshire Council after my walk. I spoke to Suckleys on Monday. The following day I had confirmation that the overgrown footpaths had been dealt with and that the stile would also to be removed. Thank you Caroline for your help.

Yesterday I walked the path again to have a look. The footpath has been flattened and sprayed. Increased footfall and die back will clear the path even more. Increased use will help keep it clear.

Stile: Before

The Existing stile wasn’t the worst ever seen. However, it definitely was a problem if you had any mobility issues. Adding a step/board could have helped.

Stile: After

The Style has now been removed opening up access to all footpath users
The Style has now been removed opening up access to all footpath users. With Suckleys owning both fields and both being arable, removing the stile was a neat solution

Footpath: Before

Chest-high undergrowth covered the path making access difficult. Many instead resorted to the field for easier access.

Footpath: After

The undergrowth footpath has been flattened and sprayed. Increased footfall and die back will clear the path. Increased use will help keep it clear.

Footpath: Before

Again the chest-high undergrowth which forced people to walk in the field instead.

Footpath: After

The footpath is now clear and accessible from West Felton right through to Pradoe and the rest of the footpath network.
