I popped out to have a look at the waste transfer station in Oswestry to see for myself how the booking system is working. Here is a video showing 15 minutes in 2 minutes.
Is the sun setting on the recycling centre? I had never experienced queues like the ones claimed by Conservative-run Shropshire Council claim. Fantasy queues the new booking system is designed to solve. If any queues existed, the new system would move them off site. This is a counter productive costly innovation. A solution looking for a problem.

Does new booking system spell the end for recycling centre?
The new system will lead to more fly tipping and less waste being handled properly. The only certainty is that usage going down will give the Conservatives an excuse to close recycling centres. They previously dropped local recycling banks, and introduced charges for green bins. The roll-out of which was a complete farce, with peeling lables and poor communication. Their actions will mean more landfill and less recycling, and more irresponsible fly tipping.
Surely we should be encouraging recycling and responsible disposal of rubbish, and cracking down on fly tipping?
Residents are vocal and are resentful of the new booking system and green bin charges. Shropshire Lib Dems have already said they would scrap the booking system on day 1 if they take control next May.

Do you think the booking system should be scrapped?
