With the Shropshire Council elections only a few weeks away, on May 1st, colleagues and residents of Whittington and West Felton have given me their endorsements.
I am a modest person who doesn’t blow his own trumpet. However, it is incredibly important that you don’t just take my word for it, when I ask for your support on polling day. Instead check out what other people say about me.
Thank you all for your support and kind words.
What people say about David
We’re backing David:
Pete Williamson, Whittington Resident
My Name is Pete Williamson, and I am a retired astronomical Physicist from Whittington, Shropshire. I fully support and endorse David as a candidate for Shropshire councillor. David is extremely committed and passionate about delivering services, etc., for the local community of Whittington and West Felton. I feel he is the right choice to help restore our services, fix our roads, and make the necessary changes in the area.
Cllr Pat Mabe, West Felton PC
West Felton Parish Councillor & former Oswestry Borough Councillor
I have known David as one of my local Parish Councillors for many years. He is hardworking and has excellent qualifications and the experience to be a County Councillor. He is passionate about the people he represents and the services they deserve.
Cllr Rosie Radford, Whittington resident and Oswestry Councillor
Please vote for David Walker, Liberal Democrat. David is a hardworking and experienced local councillor who will ensure that the views of residents in Whittington and West Felton are represented and prioritised at Shropshire Council. David cares for local people and places.
Helen Hughes, Whittington Resident
I am pleased to support David Walker in the forthcoming County Council Elections. David has a proven track record as a Parish Councillor in West Felton and I believe that his proactive approach in engaging with local issues would be of great benefit to the residents of the Whittington Division. I hope he will be elected to join the Liberal Democrat group on Shropshire County Council.
LB, Whittington Resident
I have been a resident in the village of Whittington in North Shropshire for nearly 12 years.
Over the years, I have seen many changes in the village, and sadly, not all of them for the better. There has also been a marked deterioration in the condition of local roads in the area.
I fully support and endorse David Walker as a candidate for Shropshire council. He is an active and enthusiastic member of the community who has always been passionate about fighting for improvements in local services in the area. Moreover, he keeps residents informed of local developments via the newsletter or social media platforms and highlights relevant events and points of concern, such as the condition of local roads and the Pylon Project consultation meetings held in the area recently.
David Walker is a visible presence in the villages. He is always prepared to listen to and engage with local residents. He is fully committed to improving public services for the local communities of Whittington and West Felton.
I feel David Walker is the right choice to be elected councillor to help restore our public services and infrastructure, to get the roads repaired, to campaign for improvements in public transport, etc, which are badly needed in this area.
Cllr Ed Nicholas, West Felton PC
Despite our political differences, I believe David will make an excellent county councillor. I have worked alongside him at Parish Council level for some years, and found him to be conscientious, experienced and hardworking. He has a very good knowledge of planning rules, which will be essential in the months and years to come.
Cllr Jill Whitby, Whittington PC
Although he is not a Parish Councillor for Whittington, I have met David on many occasions. I know he works hard for his West Felton constituents, and he is also aware of the issues we have here in Whittington. I think he has the right drive and work ethic to be a County Councillor, and if elected he will work hard for the whole of the Whittington Division. He is committed to the area, and to the people who live and work in it.
Kathy James
Former Clerk – Bridgnorth Town Council
I hope that the people of Whittington realise how great a representative you would be for them – all the best David.
Helen Howell
Former Mayor of Bridgnorth 1990-91
Please vote for David for your Shropshire Councillor- I have worked with him as a Councillor and as a Trustee of a Housing charity. He works hard and achieves things. He has experience and integrity and would represent you well.
Neil M
Whittington Resident
You’d be far better in office, and do it the right way.
Trevor Davies – Former Lib Dem County Councillor
Whittington Division 2006-09,
Gobowen, Selattyn and Weston Rhyn Division 2009-13
David has worked hard for the residents of Whittington Division as a local campaigner. His expertise and knowledge about roads, planning and IT will be a huge asset in the times ahead.
