Final post from my ward walk and drive today… I will save some others for another day.
Went to look at the finished surface dressing north of Whittington. I complained about the ‘bleeding’ road surface being dangerous back in August 2020. Bleeding is where the bitumen from surface dressing rises to the top over time, usually because too much bitumen has been used. This lowers skid resistance dramatically as surface traction is lost and makes the road surface shine.
I am pleased to see that this surface dressing has been completed after the relining last week. 👏 Safer surface conditions are in place, which is the main priority. Hopefully, the underlying bleeding will not resurface. If it does, more drastic repairs will be needed.
